Safety of all team members is your primary concern
- When travelling above 6000 metres all team members must be suitably-equipped for the mountain conditions. This means that climbers must have high-altitude windsuits on at all times when on the mountain.
- Mittens and goggles must also be worn to avoid snow-blindness and frostbite.
- Climbers must be safely connected by rope.
- Glacier travel is only permissible at night when the glacier is safely frozen.
- Each team may have a minimum of three climbers and a maximum of five climbers on the mountain at any one time.
- The mountain is only safe for ten teams at any one time.
- Keep quiet - loud noises may result in avalanche.
- All climbers must seek shelter in a blizzard.
- Due to lack of oxygen when crossing soft snow on foot, climbers must only make one move every ten deep breaths. If using skis, climbers can make one move every five deep breaths.
- When crossing crevasses, any equipment that touches the black void is lost forever.
- Because of the altitude, climbers may only spend a maximum of fifteen minutes between 6000 and 7000 metres, and a maximum of ten minutes between 7000 and 8000 metres. Any extension of this time leads to blindness.
